Grady County Sports Hall of Fame nomination deadline is Thursday

Citizens are reminded that the Grady County Sports Hall of Fame is accepting nominations through this Thursday, Dec. 10, for the second induction to be held in the spring of 2010. The Hall of Fame board reminds readers that it will be the primary responsibility of the citizens of Grady County to nominate possible inductees. Those nominated last year but not chosen remain eligible for this year’s induction service.
The committee has been soliciting nominations for the last several weeks and will close the process this week. Members will then meet to decide who will make up the second induction class.
Last year, the Grady County Sports Hall of Fame inducted Teresa Edwards, Bill Stanfield, Bobby Walden and the late coach Tommy Taylor.
Nomination forms may be picked up at the front office at Cairo High School or at the Cairo-Grady County Chamber of Commerce, and should be returned to the Chamber of Commerce by Thursday at 5 p.m.
