Funeral services for Johnny Carl Mitchell, 55, of Cairo, GA are 4:00p.m., Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Clark Funeral Home with the Rev. Neal Baggett officiating. Mr. Mitchell passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2010 in Bainbridge Health Care nursing home.
Mr. Mitchell was born February 22, 1955 in Cairo, GA, to the late William C. “Red” Mitchell, Jr. and Mrs. Marlene H. Mitchell who survives. Mr. Johnny worked very diligently for several pizza companies as a delivery person and once set the standard for writing pledges for the United Way fund raising. Johnny was also a faithful donor to the South West Georgia Blood Bank.
Survivors include: His mother, Marlene H. Mitchell, Cairo, GA, a sister; Susan Newman, Calvary, GA, a brother; Mickey Mitchell, Cairo, GA, a grandmother; Cassie B. Harper, Cairo, GA, nieces; Jeanlea Kirk, Chesterville, OH, Shasta Newman, Douglas, GA, a nephew; Jon Newman, Las Vegas NV, and great niece and nephew; Lynnea and Will Kirk, Chesterville, OH.
Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his grandparents; Carl Harper and W. Carl and Nora Mitchell; and an aunt, Frances Mitchell.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 10, 2010 from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. at Clark Funeral Home.
