Services for Opal Sadler Lee, 89, of Cairo, Georgia, will be held at
3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 18, 2009, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral
Home. Rev. Matt Trim will officiate and interment will follow in
Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, Georgia. Her grandsons will serve as active
pallbearers. Mrs. Lee passed away on Friday, October 16, 2009, at
Grady General Hospital in Cairo. Born April 13, 1920, in Grady
County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Emmett and Emma Jones
Sadler. She was a member of Reno Baptist Church and was retired from
W. B. Roddenbery Co. She was married to Joseph LaFate Lee, who
preceded her in death August 26, 1977. Survivors include daughters
and sons-in-law, Esther and Gene Jones, Whigham, Georgia, Janell and
Eldon Adams, Cairo, Georgia, Helen and Victor Spatafora, Palmetto,
Florida, Kathy and Mickey Green, Whigham, Georgia; son and
daughter-in-law, Joseph and Sharon Lee, Pearland, TX; grandchildren,
Genia Kimmel, Daryl Jones, Heath Jones and Gaye Touchton all of
Whigham, Georgia, Delann Connell and Vickie Ezell both of Cairo,
Georgia, Nick Green, Whigham, Georgia, Leah Trim, Kentucky, Jonathan
Green, Whigham, Georgia, Jodie Jones, Havana, Florida, Mark Lee,
Tallahassee, Florida and Troy Lee, Houston, Texas; 28
great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lee was
preceded in death by her husband, parents, a grandson, Kenneth Hagan,
brothers, Olan and Otho Sadler, sisters, Mallie Dalton and Ernestine
Bloodworth. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7:00 p.m.
on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at the funeral home.
