Services for Pauline Harrison Broome, 87, of Cairo, Georgia, are at
2:00 p.m., Friday, November 13, 2009, at Reno Baptist Church, Cairo,
Georgia, with the Rev. Roger Brinkley officiating. Interment will
follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Cairo, Georgia. Mrs. Broome died
Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at Pinewood Nursing Center in Whigham,
Georgia.
Active pallbearers are Walter Maxwell, Carey VanLandingham, Carson
Bearden, Ted Bryant, Jimmy Hammett and Leslie Hudson. Honorary
pallbearers are Holmes Maxwell, Neil Holton, Luke Ausburn, Yancey
Maxwell, Tom Maxwell, Frank Lodge, Tom Hopkins, Tommy Hopkins, Carroll
Hopkins, Duane Hopkins, Wayne Tootle, David Maxwell, Gary Harrison,
Wayne Windham, Jeff Windham and Tim Harrison.
Mrs. Broome was born May 11. 1922, in Grady County, Georgia, and was a
daughter of the late Guy Harvey and Mary Isabelle Bell Harrison. On
August 30, 1956, she married William Paul Broome, who preceded her in
death on July 14, 2009. She was a home maker and member of Reno
Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Sue Broome and a son, Terry Paul
Broome both of Cairo, Georgia; sister, Dorothy H. McClellan, Havana,
Florida; sister-in-law, Marjorie W. Coffee, Thomasville,
Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Mary H. Thomas and brothers, Joe B. and Guy W. (Bill) Harrison.
