The 5th grade students at Southside Elementary are studying the Social Studies Standard: Describe the role of the cattle trails in the late 19th century, including the Black Cowboys of Texas, the Great Western Cattle Trails and the Chisholm Trail. As part of their study teachers and students alike were encouraged to dress the part on one of the days. Shown here in full cowboy attire: Hannah Dentz, Babs Walden and Tangela Smiley.
