Police investigating theft at Zebulon

Cairo Police are trying to track down the ones responsible for a theft at Cairo’s historic Zebulon Theater.
The thievery was discovered the morning of Monday, Oct. 20, by theater volunteers who reported it to authorities.
Receipts from that weekend’s showings of the movie “Left Behind” were missing. The money had been kept in a lock box and stored inside a locked cabinet. That morning, though, the receipts, lock box and even the cabinet door were gone.
According to Cairo Police Investigator Wandell Asbell, a rear door to the theater building was found unsecured. Asbell says the door was known to be difficult to lock.
The police investigator collected fingerprints at the scene as evidence and is continuing his probe into the crime. Anyone with information concerning the burglary is asked to contact Cairo Police at 229-378-3096.
