Tuesday weather knocked out power for some

Thunderstorms that swept across South Georgia Tuesday caused some homes outside the Cairo City Limits to lose electricity briefly.
Grady EMC experienced scattered outages in all three of the counties they serve, according to Donnie Prince, Grady EMC spokesman. Prince says the majority of the outages were in the Beachton area.
Tree limbs falling on power lines were the primary cause of the 514 members losing power in Grady, Thomas and Decatur counties. Everyone had power restored within 53 minutes of their outage, Prince says, and all were back on line by Tuesday afternoon.
The City of Cairo utility officials reported no outages Tuesday.
